Tips: hoe verpak ik mijn kunstwerken het best voor verzending?

Tips: How to safely package artwork for shipping

You know the feeling: stacks of beautiful drawings from your little artist are scattered everywhere. But how do you get them safely to our studio? The way you carefully pack your artwork determines how well it arrives.

Step 1: Choose the right packaging

When you order your Tiny Gallery, you'll automatically receive a special shipping box with a return label. Would you prefer to use your own packaging? You can (just let us know when you place your order). A sturdy cardboard box works perfectly. For flat artworks, even a thick protective envelope is perfectly suitable.

Step 2: Stack neatly and flat on top of each other

Lay the artworks flat on top of each other and start thinking about the order you want them to appear in the book. The better you pack them, the better the final result will be.

Step 3: Protect with soft packing material

Place some soft material like tissue paper, old newspapers, or other packing material between delicate artworks. Think, for example, of clay pieces or other fragile materials. This way, they'll stay well protected and arrive safely. Large drawings or paintings are best shipped flat, as much as possible. We can often easily repair a fold or wrinkle, but avoiding them altogether is, of course, even better.

Do you have artwork with glitter? Then put it in a separate bag or envelope. Glitter is fantastic, but it travels and suddenly shows up everywhere 😉

Step 4: Fill all empty spaces well

Make sure nothing can shift during transport. Carefully fill all hollow spaces with soft packing material so everything is secure yet safe. You don't want the 3D artwork, for example, to slide around in the shipping box during shipment.

Tip: Making large balls of old newspapers or other old packaging material usually works very well.

Step 5: Add personal notes where needed

Would you like to add a sweet, personal story to certain artworks? Write it on a removable post-it note and attach it directly, or use a paperclip with a short note to keep it secure. This way, everything stays together, and we can customize the book entirely to your specifications.

Pro tip: Don't forget the photos

If you'd like to place photos among the artworks, please place them in the desired order within the entire stack. We'll follow your chosen order exactly.

If you only have digital photos, you can email them to us at hello@tiny-gallery.com . If you need the photos in a specific place in the book, please indicate that in the email and include a sticky note in the shipping box.

Don't forget to include your order number in the email so we know which art book the photos belong to.

In short

So please take the time to carefully package your artworks so they arrive safely and undamaged. Then we can lovingly create your unique Tiny Gallery book. Don't have a preference for the order? No worries! You can indicate on the order form you receive after placing your order whether we should take a specific order into account.
